Tandayapa valley the Garden of Birds is a premiere place for birdwatching and photography. Located on the foothills of the Western Andes in Ecuador. Mashpi Amagusa Reserve is a place with mega-diversity. Listed as an Important Bird Area (IBA) and one of the best hot spots on earth.

  >DAY 1: ​

3,200 msl: Montane Forest - High Andes; 

You will be picked up from your hotel in Quito and drive towards Zuroloma Reserve. Excellent opportunity to observe the foothills of the Andes. This reserve is the gateway to the famous Choco-Andean biosphere reserve. Very good location for bird and nature photography.

1,800 msl: Temperate Forest; 

Ideal place to observe and photograph high altitude birds such as the Plate-billed Mountain Toucan. 

  >DAY 2: 

1,100 msl: Cloud Forest - Mashpi Reserve; 

This will be a good day to photograph birds endemic to the Andean Choco. We will visit the moth trap where we will observe a "Lifer" such as the Black Solitaire.

1,600 msl: Mountain foot: 

Time to visit the famous Andean Cock of the Rock in its Lek. Excellent photo spot. And the perfect place to put the cherry on top of the cake.
